Does reverse text work with emoji, Unicode and accented characters?
This implementation prefers the browser's Unicode grapheme segmentation through Intl.Segmenter when it is available. Grapheme-aware reversal treats many combined symbols, accented characters and emoji sequences as one user-perceived character instead of blindly splitting every UTF-16 code unit.
For example, an emoji with a skin-tone modifier should ideally move as one visible symbol. Older browsers that do not provide grapheme segmentation fall back to Unicode code-point iteration, which is still safer than reversing raw JavaScript string units but may split some complex emoji sequences.
Mirror-style output has a separate limitation: Unicode does not contain perfect horizontal mirror equivalents for the entire alphabet. Unsupported characters therefore remain unchanged or use the closest available look-alike.
Backward text and palindromes
A palindrome is a word, number or phrase that reads the same in both directions after the comparison rules are applied. Examples include level, racecar and phrases such as Never odd or even when spaces and capitalization are ignored.
